All,
Per Carol's reminder, our discussion of White Rage will be from 2:30-4:30 tomorrow (Sat., 9/19/20).
The weather should be good for an outside event, we will be meeting in person rather than via Zoom. It will be a bit cool, so make sure that you bring a sweater or jacket.

Location: Town Center Park, Hamden
2761 Dixwell Ave, Hamden, CT 06518

The park extends from the south boundary of the Hamden Main Library, 2901 Dixwell Ave, Hamden.Park at the library, south end. You'll see the large barn that is in the park. Meet there and we will find a nicely shaded spot.
We will sit outside - socially distanced. You should wear a mask and bring:- A chair- Water (or any other beverage you wish to bring) and snacks- Sweater or jacket, as the high tomorrow will be in the mid-60s.
Restrooms (port-o-potties - they were well-cleaned when we checked this location out last month) are in the (library) parking lot.
As I expect more than the 10 people we had last month, we likely will sit further out by the barn in a circle for easier conversation.
If you have any other questions, call or text me on my cell phone: (860) 965-4029.
A reminder that my friend Ken McClary (see below) will be the guest moderator for the discussion.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in person.
Kevin

Our book for September is "White Rage: The Unspoken Truth of our Racial Divide" by historian Carol Anderson.

We are pleased to announce that Ken McClary will moderate the discussion. Ken is a graduate of South Carolina State University (SCSU), where he was President of the Political Science Association and an active student body organizer. Upon graduating, he worked briefly for Obama for America New Hampshire and subsequently numerous political causes and candidates in his adopted state of Connecticut. He recently completed his Master of Arts in Public Policy from Trinity College and served on the Bloomfield Town Council from 2017-2019. Ken believes that all citizens can and WILL be successful if they have the motivated desire to do well and are given varied academic and social resources that eliminate all excuses for failure.

Note: The discussion is currently posted as an online (Zoom) event.  Watch for a further announcement, it may be changed to an outdoor in-person discussion at Town Center Park in Hamden.
