Our may speaker had promised us information about their next meeting.
He's asked that we share the following message.

-Carol

Thank you so much for hosting us and for the opportunity to share our
work and analysis and gather input as we prepare to launch our most
ambitious campaign yet! As Willie Harris said, “you only get what you’re
organized enough to take.”

We hope that your members will stay connected!

You can get more info and keep up with our activities at the *link tree

If you scroll down you will also see a way to *join New Haven Rising *as
a dues-paying member ($50 per year suggested or $25 fixed income) or to
make a contribution (“other”). While we are an organization consisting
of individuals from all walks of life, many of our members are low
income and some are unhoused, so sponsoring their ability to join is
also appreciated.  Dues and donations help support things like providing
food and childcare at organizing and community meetings. Larger
donations will go to aiding us in re-starting our youth internship
program, “organizing beyond barriers.” The movement is people-powered
and people-funded, not funded by corporate sponsors. Other creative
ideas and suggestions welcome!

Our next meeting for committee members and Allies will be *Thursday,
5/29 from 5:30-7pm* (location in New Haven TBA soon). New folks are very
welcome to come hear about our work, share the issues you are working on
or being impacted by, and build community. Please let Sharon or Carol
(?) know if you’re interested and you can also call, text, or email me
directly.

This summer we will be *knocking on doors* and talking with residents in
every neighborhood of New Haven about what is most impacting them, what
issues matter most to their communities, and inviting them to make their
voices heard (including by registering to vote). We always canvass in
pairs, provide training, etc. This work is the backbone of how we
develop our issue-agendas and go out and win them!

We will also be hosting a *large demonstration* in Mid-late July to
publicly announce our demands and our next campaign. Stay tuned!

I hope to see you all again soon!
With solidarity & gratitude,

Jaime Myers-McPhail
