You hear the name Brunhild and think we must be talking about some busty
woman with a shield and spear, wearing braids and a helmet, singing for
hours on end in a Wagner opera. That’s Brünnhilde. Brunhild and her
sister-in-law Fredegund were queens who ruled over an area that
encompassed modern-day France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg,
western and southern Germany, and swaths of Switzerland for over 50
years during the Dark Ages. Read the Smithsonian article about them at
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/medieval-queens-daring-reigns-quickly-forgotten-180979246/
and join the discussion Monday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom at
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83782952532 or via meetup at
https://www.meetup.com/cthumanist/events/283596603/

Hope to see you there!
