The first public health hospital in the United States was opened in 1902 on Ellis Island and functioned until 1930. As part of the immigration complex in New York Harbor, the challenges of dealing with contagious diseases were massive in the days before antibiotics and modern medicines. In light of the present anti-vaccine crisis, this documentary provides an insight into our current challenges.  Discussion will follow.  Please join us.  Refreshments will be shared.
