Hello Everyone,
ThisSaturday April 04, 02:30 we will watch a Frontline video titled “TheRise of Isis.” There is no end is sight to the threats from whatwe call terrorists and many news items as well as articles andcommentaries from the talking heads of our ( US ) media. We coulddedicate a long string of discussions about what this means and whatour nation or society should be doing or not doing. But, weprobably wouldn't be too interested for too long or perhaps even toodepressed pretty quickly because of the deep divide from what wemight find in such study and any course of personal action we couldimagine. From time to time, however, it may be worthwhile to try tograpple with these ideas.
Thisvideo begins with the American withdrawal from Iraq 2011 which washailed as the end of war with the implication that we had no furtherresponsibility for peace. “FRONTLINE investigates themiscalculations S mistakes behind the brutal rise of ISIS.Correspondent Martin Smith, who made "Truth, War &Consequences," "Beyond Baghdad," "PrivateWarriors" and "Gangs of Iraq," reports from Iraq onhow the country began coming undone after the American withdrawal andwhat it means for the U.S. to be fighting there again. Aired:10/28/2014, 53:41 mins.” [ quoted from Frontline on-line ]
