The organizational dinner meeting for Hartford Humanists will be on
Tuesday, April 30 at the Wood-N-Tap in Rocky Hill at 6:30 PM. After about a
half hour of drinks and socializing, we will start our business meeting at
around 7:00 PM.

The main things that we will be discussing on Tuesday will be our
collective ideas as to what a Hartford-based Humanist organization might do
for our members and our community. There are many possibilities, including
educational, social, political, public service, and communal support. You
may have additional ideas.

As a humanist community, everything that HH will do and become will be
decided by all us democratically. Although I will facilitate this initial
meeting, there is no predetermined agenda or course of action beyond that.

Everyone will have an opportunity to express their hopes as to what this
new community will become. We will also discuss specific ideas as to
activities and events that we might plan. If you have specific ideas as to
activities or events that you would like HH to organize, please send them
to me in an email before the meeting: danblinn at gmail.com I will assemble
them in a list that we can discuss. You can also raise ideas at the meeting.

In addition to the open discussion described above, the other items that I
anticipate discussing at the meeting are:

1) Joining the American Humanist Association as a chapter member;

2) Joining the CT Coalition of Secular Organizations;

3) Establishing a "Steering Committee" to move the organization forward.

If anyone would like to add to the agenda, please call or email me:

I look forward to seeing many of you on Tuesday. If you plan to attend,
please join our Meetup Group and RSVP. Please feel free to share this with
anyone who might be interested in joining us.
